{"id":2664,"date":"2022-05-09T16:11:04","date_gmt":"2022-05-09T13:11:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mesfia.eu\/?p=2664"},"modified":"2022-05-09T16:11:04","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T13:11:04","slug":"facing-energy-supply-issues-in-isolated-areas-by-the-development-of-postgraduate-curricula-series-of-workshops-in-s-e-asia-and-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mesfia.eu\/index.php\/2022\/05\/09\/facing-energy-supply-issues-in-isolated-areas-by-the-development-of-postgraduate-curricula-series-of-workshops-in-s-e-asia-and-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"Facing Energy Supply Issues in Isolated Areas by the development of Postgraduate Curricula &#8211; Series of Workshops in S.E.Asia and Europe."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The European Program <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mesfia.eu\">\u201cMastering Energy Supply focusing on Isolated Areas \u2013 MESfIA\u201d<\/a> is funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS+ framework and is co-ordinated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teicrete.gr\/\">Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU)<\/a> and Ass.Prof. Tsikalakis Antonis (info@mesfia.eu)-Hellenic Mediterranean University- <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ece.hmu.gr\/\">ECE<\/a> Dpt. This project brings together stakeholders from both EU and South East Asia in order to develop Postgraduate Curriculum at various issues relevant with the Energy Supply of isolated and insular areas.<\/p>\n<p>Under this framework, 5 Workshops were organized since February 2022 till mid-April 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The 1<sup>st<\/sup> workshop, on 15th February 2022, was organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itccanarias.org\/web\/es\/\">ITC<\/a> in Canary Islands. In this event focus was given on insular areas with emphasis on RES Integration using Hydrogen and rest Storage devices. Croatian participants of the workshop shared their experience on the needs of Business knowledge on RES Development.<\/p>\n<p>The 2<sup>nd<\/sup> workshop, on 1<sup>st<\/sup> April 2022 was organised in Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam by the <a href=\"http:\/\/fme.hcmuaf.edu.vn\/fme-36320-1\/vn\/du-an-mesfia--xay-dung-chuong-trinh-thac-si-ve-nang-luong-cho-cac-khu-vuc-biet-lap.html\">Nong Lam University<\/a>, partner of the project, which focused mostly on the special issues of Vietnam with regards to the Use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES), especially Biomass and Solar Energy and the presentation of the Postgraduate Curricula developed with the aid of the project and organized by this University and the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.ute.udn.vn\/ChuyenMuc\/71\/University-of-Technology-and-Education--The-University-of-Danang-actively-participates-in-the-Mastering-Energy-Supply-Focusing-on-Isolated-Area-Scientific-Conference-MESFIA-2021_1092.html\">University of Technology and Education-University of Danang<\/a>, the other Vietnamese University partner of the project. In the same event the equipment acquired in these Universities funded by the European Union and our project MESfIA was presented.<\/p>\n<p>A similar event, the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> workshop, took place on the 5<sup>th<\/sup> April \u201822 in Thailand with the participants of the University of the <a href=\"https:\/\/eecc.ait.ac.th\/mesfia\/\">Asian Institute of Technology<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eng.nu.ac.th\/eng2012\/\">Naresuan University<\/a>, also partners of the project. Assistant Professor of ECE, Dr. Katsigiannis presented the special requirements for reinforcing Island Grids Resiliency. Our Thai Partners presented the structure of their Postgraduate curricula developed within the project, as well as the new capabilities provided by the equipment bought within the Project.<\/p>\n<p>On the 7th April \u201922, the 4th workshop in Toulouse took place at the Laplace Laboratory premises in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laplace.univ-tlse.fr\">Universite Paul Sabatier &#8211; Toulouse III<\/a> . Prof. Karapidakis from ECE Department and Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/ieecc.hmu.gr\/\">Instiute of Energy,Environment and Climate Change<\/a> presented the estimated contribution of the Storage Devices and Hybrid Power Stations in the Island of Crete Power System Operation. The Train for Trainers Seminar held on-line emphasized also on contemporary progress in lighting in terms of lighting automation or under the challenges of Smart lighting.<\/p>\n<p>On the 19th April 2022, the 5<sup>th<\/sup> workshop took place in with the support of our Partners <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ugm.id\">Universitas Gadjah-Mada<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/stei.itb.ac.id\/en\/home\/\">Institute of Technology of Bandung<\/a>. The Postgraduate Curricula developed with the support of the project as well as the additional capabilities acquired by the Use of the equipment co-funded by the project were presented.
